Hi Andi,
Thanks for visiting Mary Makes Dinner. I just got my oil cloth in the mail yesterday! I was thinking of winging the pattern with a few changes that should make the closure air tight (in theory). Are you following a special pattern to make your oilcloth bags?

The bags I made last week were all fabric, so they wouldn't be useful for wet stuff, like carrots or sandwiches, but I am planning on using Oil Cloth to make up a waterproof version for my next project. Oil Cloth is pretty cool stuff - basically just laminated fabric, but it comes in a huge variety of really cool patterns and colors. I've seen it sold locally at Tesoro's on Congress, but you can also find tons of it online. One of my favorite sources is http://www.etsy.com/shop/oilclothaddict. I'm thinking I'll need to alter the bag design just a little to make the truly waterproof, but I have some ideas! Crossing my fingers that it will work. :)
