I have to thank you for sharing that link with me, and giving me the tip on internet car buying. We ended up going that route with a dealer just outside the city that had been recommended by a friend. We ended up getting an awesome price on a car, and it was the most painless car buying experience I've ever had. Making the deal before we went in took so much pressure off. Thanks so much!

Wow. Terrible. Way to go for not caving, and I hope you at least get a gigantic apology for all that crap.
When I bought my car I did it all online. I hate dealing with people, and one guy at one dealership when I went in talked to me like I was 12 years old. He found out how old I was (27 at the time) and what I do, and said, in a terribly condescending voice, "Well good for YOU!!" So, I gave up on face-to-face. It turned out in my favor and I pitted two dealerships against each other over the same car. I still had to deal with the, "if you finance with us..." stuff when I went to pick it up, but I had already secured an awesome rate at my own credit union, and that shut them up.
Here's a good article: http://www.edmunds.com/car-buying/part-one-internet-vs-traditional-car-buying.html if you haven't looked into the Internet department yet.
Also, FWIW, I love Hewlett VW in Round Rock. I hate Charles Maund VW 5 minutes from our house. Pretty sure Brett hates Charles Maund Toyota even more. So stay away from that guy.
The pizza analogy is awesome, though. At first I thought, "Restaurants try to upsell all the time!", but then I kept reading and...not like that.
