Bake Sale For Japan!! Saturday, April 2

Logo1

This coming Saturday, April 2, folks all over Austin (and all over the county) are coming together to help aid relief in Japan by celebrating their love of baked goods.  The Austin Bakes for Japan Bake Sale will be going on in multiple locations across the city from 9am to 2pm, then will continue until 5pm as part of a Community Block Party at Mira Vista.

Organizers are still recruiting bakers and volunteers, so if you would like to participate, contact Austin Bakes.  If you'd rather just shop and nom, that's dandy too!  Donations to Americares will also be accpted at Bake Sale events and online.

Austin Bake Sale Locations

  • Downtown: Woof Gang Bakery Austin, 1204 N. Lamar Blvd., (10-2)
  • North Central: Foreign & Domestic, 306 E. 53rd Street,  (10-2)
  • South: Hotel San Jose, 1316 South Congress Avenue, (10-2)
  • East: Nomad Bar, 1213 Corona Drive, Austin, (10-2)
  • West: Shops at Mira Vista, 2785 Bee Cave Road, Suites 336 & 341, Austin, (10-5)

In addition to Austin's events, there are simultaneous events going on all over the country!  If you are from another neck of the woods, be sure to check out their list of nationwide locations.  After browsing the list, it looks like there will be sales in multiple cities in the following states.

  • California
  • Oregon
  • Washington
  • Massachusettes
  • New York
  • Pennsylvania
  • Illinois
  • North Carolina
  • Hawaii

Organizers are still recruiting bakers and volunteers, so if you would like to participate, contact Austin Bakes or the organizers in your area.  If you'd rather just shop and nom, that's dandy too!  After all, gorging yourself on delicious cookies and treats really is a pretty cushy way to lend a hand to those in need.  It doesn't get much easier!

My sweet sis, Sarah, and I will be lending a hand at Nomad from 11am to 2pm!  Stop by and say Hello, grab some goodies, and get your nom on, for charity!!
