The Austin Pork Experiment

Austin_Texas

Cookoff pros Nick Suarez and Theo Peck are excited to present Austin’s first ever Pork Experiment, an amateur cookoff involving Austin’s finest home chefs. Dishes will range from savory to sweet and will feature our favorite ingredient – Pork. Sharpen your knifes, this is a call to all home chefs looking to be named Austin’s next cookoff king or queen.

Winners will not only achieve culinary glory, but will be flown to Brooklyn, NY to compete in the National cookoff title, the super-bowl of cookoffs held at Brooklyn Brewery. Do you have what it takes to win? Are you experimented…? – From TheFoodExperiments.com

In less than a week Yours Truly will be throwing down at Club Deville in Downtown Austin, competing in The Ausin Pork Experiment.  As you may have guessed, I love food.  I also relish a good competition.  I'll be busting my butt all week getting ready to wow the Austin foodie world with a revamped version of my graduation hors deuvre, Ginger Pork in Black Sesame Wonton Cups with Fruit Salsa.  I have a whole lot of wonton wrappers to make, but with careful planning, and more than a little help from my wonderful sister, Sarah, I'll show this town what I came here to do, get my cook on.

So if you live in or around Austin, and you'd like to try a bite of my famed appetizer, along with many, many other pork filled bites from other chefs, visit The Austin Pork Experiment Website and buy yourself a ticket.  I've been told that these things do sell out, so get your tickets while the getting is good.  Did I mention that Brooklyn Lager will also be providing beer?  That's right, good food AND beer. You can't beat that with a stick.
