MMD Online Cook-Off: Raw Food Rock Stars

And the winner is…

ALLEN STERN OF LET'S TALK FITNESS!

Allen took the lead with his beautiful cucumber zucchini spaghetti and raw pesto sauce. Allen will be awarded a $50 gift certificate to WheatGrassKits.com courtesty of Google Local Austin.

We've done it again! Our second live, online cook-off took place January 30! The theme this time around was raw food. Our cooks were challenged to create the most delicious dish they could in 30 minutes or less, while cooking live over a G+ hangout. The goal was to create a dish that will appeal to anyone and everyone, a raw food recipe rock star.

Here's a little summary of what everyone cooked:

AllenSalad

Allen made raw spaghetti using cucumber and zucchini with a pesto sauce.

Stuffed Portabello Mushroom and Gazpacho

Melissa's dish was featured a spinach and cilantro pesto, stuffed inside a marinated Portabello mushroom accompanied by a spicy tomato and jalepeno gazpacho.  Garnished with fresh avocado and cilantro, this raw recipe is fresh, fast and fierce!

RawLettuceWraps

Mary Helen made Thai style veggie wraps stuffed with bell pepper, cucumber, mushrooms, cilantro, and shredded carrots. The wraps were topped with a raw peanut sauce made from pureed raw peanut, ginger, garlic, green chilies, sesame oil, lime, and sweet potato juice.

This is our second online cook-off using G+. To check out our last cook-off, the Thanksgiving Leftovers Cook-off, you can check it out here.
