The newer models are supposedly more efficient, with further reach. One thing regarding costs that I can tell you that is Austin specific: Austin Energy sells unlimited public charging station passes for $25 per 6 months, so the max youll pay in Austin for charging outside your home is $50. Thats pretty amazing considering $50 is the equivalent of one tank of gas for most cars.
