					<description><![CDATA[Thanks, Kandy! I hope your next birth is a beautiful one. Babies seem to come however and whenever they please. I think my midwives would tell you not to try and break your own water. I think there is an infection risk with that. Besides, once your water breaks there is a time limit before you&#039;d need to be induced. At least, that&#039;s how things worked at our birth center. I imagine after the baby is a week overdue it is pretty tempting to take matters into your own hands though!

					<description><![CDATA[such a great birth story!!!! for the most part it sounds like things went according to plan. a big congrats again on your precious healthy baby! you are a strong woman to choose a medicine-free birth in this age of scheduled c-sections and epidurals as soon as you walk in the door. i truly hope my next childbirth (if my ivf works!) goes a little something like this. i feel a little robbed since i was induced and never experience natural contractions. i was a week late and my little one was almost 9lb at birth and he darn near didn&#039;t move down the canal. after pushing for 10hr we were a moment away from an emergency c-section. i wonder if you can by those little hook things to break your own water.......
