Parenting Definitions: Foof

Did you have cutesy names for your bodily functions? I'd forgotten that I had until my Dad asked CC if he made a foof.

Foof! It's all coming back to me now. The word "fart" was vulgur, and we got scolded for using it, but "foof" was A-Ok.

We also called breasts "pidgies", butts were "bottoms" and anything in the bikini area (boys or girls) was a "pee pee".

I have no idea where the word "pidgies" came from but I do know that my sister Heather and I thought they were hilarious. I remember us finding a pair of anemones in one of my Dad's oceanography books that was provocatively shaped. "Sea pidgies!", we screamed and then collapsed into a pile of giggles. (BTW provocatively shaped sea creatures are definitely still funny.)

Sea Pidgies!

Guys, can you believe I actually found the sea pidgie picture in a book at my parents' house? Confirmed. Still funny.

Did you have cutesy words for things as a kid? Does your own kid use them too or do they have their own?
