Rock a New Recipe From Chef Johnny Iuzzini at Macy’s Domain!

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by the Everywhere Agency on behalf of Macy's. All opinions and thoughts expressed within this post are my own.

My mother watches competition cooking shows with nearly the same enthusiasm as baseball – and that's saying a lot. She's a Boston fan. Her Dad played in the farm leagues with several legends and when they finally won the series she made a pilgrimage to Maine just to rest a hat on my Grand-dad's grave, point downward and yell "You were RIGHT, Dad. They ARE the best!!"

She's loud when she watches sports. There's yelling, fist pounding, and dirty words. When she doesn't like a call she'll start arguing with the ref. When something wonderful happens she'll jump out of her seat and run toward the screen. I knew she'd kindled the same rabid interest when I saw her and my father watching a televised cooking competition one evening.

There she was, in full-on baseball mode. But instead of protesting strikes or admonishing pitchers she was getting all fired up over things like risotto and raspberry coulis! The judging portion had her on the edge of her seat. I too, was thrilled with a sense of anticipation. I wondered just how far her excitement would go.

What if she didn't like the judges decision? Would I hear her use one of her famous Maine insults? Would she call any of the judges a "son of a sea cook" or tell him to "go suck a lemon"? What if she liked the result? Would she leap from her seat hooting and cheering in vicarious triumph?

I don't want to completely embarrass my poor mother so I'll just tell you this. The woman did not disappoint. And she really, I mean REALLY, likes a good cooking show.

ROCK A NEW RECIPE FROM CHEF JOHNNY IUZZINI AT MACY’S!

If you're anything like my mom then you are probably familiar with Chef Johnny Iuzzini. He's a cookbook author, professionally trained pastry chef, and a celebrity culinary expert with experience judging the very kind of competitive cooking shows my Mother so adores.

Come to Macy's at the Domain at 2:00 pm to see Chef Johnny Iuzzini present a live cooking demo and share samples of his famous dishes. This FREE event will feature fun music, delicious food, and the star-power of a real live celebrity chef. You can bet your sweet bippy that I will be bringing my mom. See you there!
