Food Myth Busters Premiers!

Today is a special day, blog friends.  Today is Food Day, a time for spreading awareness about the need for good, clean, fair food. It couldn't be a better time to premier a great short film on sustainable agriculture.

It's no secret that our food system is broken. Pesticides and chemical fertilizers saturate our soil and groundwater. Food security is a major issue facing more Americans than you might think possible. Somehow, in the land of excess and convenience food, there are people starving and sick as a result of our current food system. But it's not just the system that needs help. If you ask me, it's our whole food culture.

We need to get back to a place where cooking at home is normal, where organic food isn't just for the well-to-do, but for every hungry mouth. Words like Kale, kohlrabi, and okra have to become household names. We have a long way to go, and there is basically just one road to get there by. That road is education.

The Story of Stuff has made a huge dent in the public's perception of consumerism. I'm hoping that this new film, Food Myth Busters can have a similar effect on our food culture, but in order for that to happen, each and every one of us who believe in fighting the good fight for food have to spread this message.

The film premiered today and is now available for viewing online!

Here it is! If you enjoy the film, be sure and like Food Myth Busters on Facebook, and follow @FoodMythBusters on Twitter. Then, share this video with your friends, family, co-workers, and social networks!
