So Much to Do

Babeleo is 29 weeks old today, putting us well into the third trimester, and leaving us only three more weeks until we reach the pre-term zone. Technically, he or she could arrive any time after March 27, though most first-time babies arrive around or after their due date. On May 1, we'll be at 37 weeks, which will be much closer to a realistic go-time. Three weeks after that brings us to May 22, at which point Babeleo will be 40 weeks old, and surely at least on the way to becoming an outside baby.

Time flies, doesn't it? It's kind of hard to believe that I've been pregnant for more than seven months. Considering we've been aware of it from the start, that shold feel like an awfully long time.

So now we are getting ready to dig in for the long wait, the time when the baby could come, but probably won't. Of course, we're hoping that Babeleo stays in there just as long as she needs to in order to be the healthiest she can be, but man, I feel like waiting is about to get intense.

Baby Room: Making Progress

Luckily, I have plenty to do for the next 3 to 11 weeks. In Baby World, we have a nursery to finish, gear to collect, disinfect, and find a home for, and birth plans to finalize. I have a bag to pack, a birthing mixtape to make, and plans to get in order to ensure harmony with our family, friends, and helpers. We also need to settle on a doula, find a pediatrician, and get birth announcements ready. Oh yeah, and we still have to take a baby care class and finish reading all those baby books I've been collecting. Sheesh.

So yeah, we have plenty to do before Babeleo arrives. In normal life we're busy too. Or at least I am. I have a book to work on, blogs to pre-stock with posts for my maternity leave, and a freezer to stock. My goal is to set myself up while I'm away, both at home and at work. I really should try to hustle some guest bloggers to fill in the gaps over at Mary Makes Dinner and Mary Makes Pretty. You'll probably still hear plenty from me over here since I'm sure I'll need the internet to gush/vent/cry to as I grow accustomed to mothering an outside baby.

Scott has to paint over the patches in the baby's room and finish working on the changing table. We've decided to install a light and a countertop in the closet instead of using a dresser alone. It should be a fairly simple project, but it will take some doing to get done (without directions and all). Good thing Scott Bobleo is so damn crafty.

So much to do, and all I really want to do is sit in the baby room and rub my belly.
