This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Pampers and Luvs at Sam’s Club. The opinions and text are all mine.
When my son was born back in 2013 we were lucky to have a supportive network of friends and family backing us up. Babies can be enormously expensive, so being showered in baby gifts, hand-me-downs, and freezer meals has us feeling mighty grateful.
Like I said, we were lucky. But not all parents can say the same. Instead of pondering which color to paint our nursery, there are parents out there with far less enjoyable decisions to make. For example, many parents find themselves having to choose between buying food and buying diapers. Diaper need is the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to keep an infant or toddler clean, dry and healthy, and it is a harsh reality for an estimated 12,000 babies in our county alone. You can learn more about diaper need in your home state here.
Since Federal assistance programs, such as SNAP (formerly called food stamps) and WIC, do not cover diapers, keeping low income families well supplied often relies on community support. With baby season on the way (Yup, that’s a thing. More babies are born between July and October than any other time of the year!) diaper need becomes a bigger issue than ever.
I decided to start this year’s baby season off by making a nice big donation to my local diaper bank, The Austin Diaper Bank, and help them get stocked up with my diaper haul from Sam’s Club.
The Austin Diaper Bank distributes donated or purchased diapers to more than 45 partner agencies stretching from Georgetown to San Marcos. Since its founding in June 2013, the Austin Diaper Bank has provided more than 700,000 diapers to over 4,000 Central Texans! They also help provide diapers to seniors in need.
To get started on my donation, I placed an order at SamsClub.com and opted for their Club Pickup service. This allowed me to swing by and pick up my diapers quickly and easily on the way to the bank.
Sam’s Club offers home delivery, Club Pickup, and even curbside pickup in select stores. This makes shopping for huge boxes of diapers as easy as possible. Avoiding a trip through the store with my kiddo in tow is a huge bonus!
Another bonus? Sam’s Club has great deals on diapers. Right now (through August 22) you can save $10 on two or $18 on three boxes of Luv’s or Pamper’s diapers or wipes. No coupon or special code necessary – the savings will appear in your online cart, at checkout, or on your Scan & Go app automatically.
Plus, get free shipping or club pickup. You can even use the Scan & Go App to make shopping in-store quicker and easier. Hooray for never waiting on a line at Sam’s Club again!
With our trunk stuffed full, we headed over to the Diaper Bank to drop off our donation. The Austin Diaper Bank has drop-off locations all over the city, making it super easy and convenient to make a donation.
