How to Make Sausage

Recently, the lovely Hilah of Hilah Cooking invited me and a bunch of other super cool food bloggers and friends over to her house for an afternoon of sausage making.  It was a fun filled get together that resulted in some spectacularly delicious sausage.

I mentioned a really simple sausage ratio in the video, but you can find a lot more complete recipes online.  During our sausage making party we made Spicy Italian Pork Sausage and Rosemary Mustard Beef Sausage from Home Sausage Making.  Both were super yummy.  The best thing about homemade sausage making is the opportunity for improvisation.  I'm thinking the next time I give this a try, I'd like to make a Chinese style pork sausage with cumin, red pepper, and ginger.  Or what about a beef sausage with basil and mushroom, or a turkey sausage with cranberry and sage?  Oh the possibilities!
