Charlie’s Custom Cookbook: My cooking crazy kid gets his very own book of recipes!
My six year old is more or less obsessed with creating his own new recipes in the kitchen. If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen some of his wacky creations over the years. He never ceases to amaze me with his creativity and imagination. Thinking outside the box is one of his greatest strengths, so encouraging that quality is important to me. I was so excited to give him this custom cookbook. I hoped that seeing his creations inside of a real printed book from CreateMyCookbook.com would let him know how much I believe in his talent!
So, how did Charlie like his custom cookbook? It’s safe to say this was a big hit. As soon as the box from CreateMyCookbook.com arrived Charlie was jumping up and down in excitement. There was no time for an unboxing video. He had to get his hands on it right away! Charlie loves seeing all of his recipes inside his custom cookbook, and I love seeing him feeling so proud and confident. The words, “I can’t believe I have my own cookbook!!”, have been repeated quite a few times since it arrived.
As for the book itself, I was impressed with its quality and substance. The cover is nice and sturdy – perfect for practical use in the kitchen. The wire binding allows pages to turn easily and for the book to lay flat when its open. I opted for the premium paper when I created this custom cookbook, and it was definitely worth the upgrade. The pages feel durable enough for the kids to leaf through on their own and for me to feel confident in it not getting torn to pieces by curious little fingers.
And the photos! The cover is gorgeous, with glossy edge to edge color that is bright, bold, and true. Inside the book, our family photos and recipe snapshots look great. The chapter opening pages are my favorite part. I had so much fun picking out the perfect picture for each category – like little Sidney Lou helping herself to a bowl of cheese puffs for breakfast during our last camping trip. What a lovely way to help preserve family memories. I can just imagine my kids opening up this book over the years and laughing about the fun we’ve had together in the kitchen.
